Engaged by the Managing Director to assist with improving the companies environmental performance and obtaining ISO 14001.

Transmission Gully PPP, NZTA, $800M​
Engaged by Greater Wellington Regional Council to work across all parties (NZTA, Council’s & Contractor) in assisting with improving the Compliance Framework.

​Incident Process Review

Engaged by NZTA to review 10 different NZTA projects throughout New Zealand and report on the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental incident management of the project.
Pekapeka to Otaki (PP20)
NZTA D & C

Engaged by HEB Construction and Downer to undertake the role of Environmental Manager during the Tender Phase.
Puhoi to Warkworth PPP, NZTA
Engaged by NX2 to undertake a “health check” of the Erosion and Sediment Control system across all parties – NZTA, Council and Contractor.

Hawkins Infrastructure (Vertical)
Engaged to develop a I day environmental training package for delivery to all their staff.

TRANSMISSION GULLY PPP, NZTA, $800M

Interim Environmental Manager
27-kms of 4 lane roading, 27 structures and approx. 8 million cubes of earthworks across very challenging terrain. This is the largest roading project in the Wellington Region to date. Environmental aspects included 5 Councils, a challenging Board of Inquiry process and significant environmental risk. Fiona’s role included improving relationships with council, growing a competent environmental team, managing planning and approvals, educating the team and helping the Project Director to develop an appropriate project environmental culture.

SH1 Waikato Expressway Tamahere to Cambridge D & C, NZTA, $140M

​Environmental Manager – Tender Phase and oversight of Construction Phase
16km four lane expressway which included 1 million cubes of earthworks and 8 bridge structures including a 200m long 40m high bridge over the Karapiro Gully. Fiona’s role included steering design change through a non-notified Consent and Outline Plan process which reduced all parties risk.

SH1 Papakura Interchange ECI, NZTA, $30M

Environmental Manager
Interchange upgrade of over 1.5km of the Southern Motorway and a new four-span double bridge over SH1. A key aspect of Fiona’s role was to ensure all on site had the knowledge to manage environmental aspects on a daily basis. Stakeholder Management was a critical component due to the nearby residents.

SH2 Tauranga Eastern Link D & C, NZTA, $350M

Environmental and Consents Manager during tender and start-up phases
23km four lane motorway project that included 7 bridges, 3 million cubes of earthworks, substantial drainage and 25km of pavements. Fiona’s role included steering significant design changes through a non-notified Consent and Outline Plan process and development and approval of all management plans with no delays to the construction programme.

SH16/18 Hobsonville Deviation D & C, NZTA, $217M

Environmental and Consents Manager
10km motorway extension which included 1.5 million cubes of earthworks, 7 bridge structures and significant areas of landscaping. Fiona’s role included developing a signature partnering approach with Auckland Council which was recognised in a joint national conference presentation and the project receiving an environmental award.

SH1 Atiamuri Bridge Replacement ECI, NZTA, $22M

3km realignment of SH1, 250,000m3 of earthworks, and a new 125m bridge crossing of the Waikato River. Fiona assisted the Project Manager in all environmental aspects which resulted in the project receiving an Environment Waikato environmental award. 

Kopu Bridge, NZTA, $35

580m long bridge over the Waihou River and a 2.5km long realignment. A new 4-arm roundabout and a 1.25km long tie-in widening. Fiona’s role included obtaining approval from Environment Waikato for the environmental mgmt. plan with no comments, undertaking regular audits and working with the Project Manager to maintain an excellent relationship with Council.

Sulphur Point Wharf Extension 2, Port of Tauranga, $28m

Design and Construction of a 170m extension to the existing Sulphur Point Container Wharf, in Tauranga.  Fiona assisted the project team with managing consent requirements which included water monitoring of dredging activities and spill management.  

Numerous National Structures and Civil Sites across
​HEB Construction

Provide support and advice to project teams on a significant number of bridge works, waste water treatment plants, wharf extensions, drainage​roading, subdivisions, landscaping across HEB. The role included identifying key risks and mitigations measures, setting up systems, training, auditing, incident management, and assistance with managing key stakeholder relationships. I.e. with Councils and Clients.
